Disadvantages of Using Contract Workers

  • Cost: Contractors frequently charge high hourly rates; they may also mark up the cost parts and supplies that could be purchased directly for less
  • Quality of Work: Monitoring and ensuring that the contracted job is done right the first time they can be difficult.
  • Correction of Changes: if follow-up work is required, getting a contractor to correct problems can be difficult
  • Scheduling: A contractor’s schedule may not be optimal for your property. In addition, if the job was awarded at an agreed price that is low, the contractor may not be motivated to stay on schedule.
