CHECK FOR APPROPRIATE WATER USE AND POTENTIAL LEAKS

  • Look at past water consumption data closely. If consumption is checked annually, how does this year’s consumption compare with the water consumption from last year and the year before? About the same? Significantly more? If significantly more, why? If no reasonable explanation is apparent, such as a higher occupancy rate, or building expansion, then the problem is likely to be underground leak of some type. If that is the case, it is necessary to use a leak detention system.

ENSURE WATER LINES ARE CLEAR

  • One major problem in older properties is that the roots from trees may interfere with water lines. Use a quarterly preventive maintenance program to clean out the system and avoid this problem.
